Victoria second baseman Roy Leger had a good game, even if his team did not. The Capitals dropped a 7-6 decision to Niagara at Drummondville College Grounds. Leger went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Stanton Boulter picked up the win in relief for Niagara, while Mike Luckwell took the loss. Victoria falls to 5-4.

The Stars got a big at-bat from left fielder Bill Bandelow. For the game, Bandelow went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Niagara a 3-1 lead.

"If we keep winning the close games," Bandelow said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
