The Media Luna Marlins knocked off the Santa Clara Vampyres, 4-3, in TML LA action at LoanDepot Park. Media Luna pitcher and Lima, Peru, native Francisco Castillo had an outstanding performance. The winner was Castillo. He threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Tony Izquierdo. The Marlins move to 48-42 with the win, while the Vampyres drop to 47-43.

Mark dejong had a big solo home run for the Marlins in the bottom of the seventh inning. With Media Luna leading 3-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Tony Izquierdo, who is tied for 5th in the RLA with a 1.35 WHIP, and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Marlins on top, 4-0.

"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Castillo.
