Springfield and Surrey got after it at Sentries Park.

The Springfield Sentries topped the Surrey Thunderbirds, 9-3. Paul Nisbet engineered a dominant performance. The Sentries now have a record of 39-50 with the win over Surrey.

The Sentries got a big hit from right fielder Greg Johnson. Facing Surrey pitcher Jonathan Guerrero in the bottom of the fifth, Johnson pounded a 3-run home run to left-center. His 2nd home run of the season put the Sentries ahead, 5-0.

"Got a lot of swings and misses today," said Nisbet.
