Blue Jays Spank Cucamonga, 11-1
|
The Toronto Blue Jays finished off the Rancho Cucamonga, 11-1. Much of the credit belonged to right fielder Nick Rausch. Rausch was 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 4 for the Blue Jays. The first-place Blue Jays, at 85-9, now lead their division by 34½ games.
Early in the game, Rausch had a grand slam home run for Toronto. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Blue Jays on top, 5-1.
"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager Tony Vargas.
