Thoroughbreds Win at Media Luna, 6-1
|
Joe Bean, who is tied for 4th in the TLA in innings pitched with 139.1, never let the Marlins get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Thoroughbreds to a win, 6-1. The winning pitcher was Bean, now 13-3. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 9. Aiken is now 71-24, Media Luna 48-47.
Aiken used the hitting of Mark Osborn to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Thoroughbreds on top, 3-0. For the game, Osborn had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"You just play the game as right as you can and see where you end up," said Thoroughbreds manager Bobby Hobbs.
