Rancho Falls Again, 5-2
|
The Toronto Blue Jays called upon starter Edgar Barragan, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Rancho Cucamonga, 5-2. Victor Crawford closed it out for Toronto, earning his 21st save. The 13-81 Cucamonga have lost 13 consecutive games.
The Blue Jays got a big at-bat from right fielder Kazuteru Nishimoto. For the game, Nishimoto hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 31st home run of the season gave Toronto a 2-0 lead.
"Use your eyes, make an adjustment, and be better," said losing manager Tony Vargas. "We need some accountability all the way around. Everybody, top to bottom."
