Saint John Pockets 7-4 Win Over Victoria
|
The Saint John Alpines defeated the Victoria Cougars, 7-4, in part because of catcher Jesus Espada. Espada went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Alpines. Franklin Trevino went 5 innings for Saint John to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs. He scattered 1 hit, while walking 5 and striking out 2. His record improves to 2-1. Momosuke Egawa earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game.
