Alpines Get Clonked by Stars, 6-3
|
Good production from designated hitter Ruben Nava helped the Arlington Stars topple the Saint John Alpines, 6-3. Nava went 2 for 3 with a home run, while scoring 2 times for the Stars. Arlington is now 39-61, Saint John 66-32.
The Stars got a big at-bat from shortstop George Horovitz. For the game, Horovitz was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Arlington a 4-3 lead.
"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Clarence Byrd.
