Vampyres Get 7th Straight Win with Late Rally
The Santa Clara Vampyres defeated the Martinsburg Maulers, 10-7. Second Baseman Charlie Francis deserved a large share of the credit. Francis went 3-4 with 2 doubles and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Vampyres. Bobby Serrano recorded the save, his 19th. The Vampyres now have a record of 60-47.

In the bottom of the eighth, Francis put his team in front with his 16th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which came against Steve Snyder, made it 8-7, Santa Clara.

"We came out aggressive," said Vampyres manager Dan Steiner. "We came out swinging the bats."
