Rattlers Pick Up 8-4 Win Against Rancho
|
The Mojave Rattlers finished off the Rancho Cucamonga, 8-4. Much of the credit belonged to third baseman Jose Garcia. Garcia was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 3 runs for the Rattlers. Mojave is now 44-63, while Rancho is 29-78.
The Cucamonga had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Rattlers going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old first baseman Javy Cotto came to the plate. Cotto hit a 2-run double on a 1-0 fastball from Rancho hurler Fernando Baldovinos. It was Cotto's 2nd double of the year.
Said Rancho manager Tony Vargas: "They did a lot of things right. We did a lot of things wrong."
