Kennett Lifts Vampires to 17-4 Win
The Santa Clara Vampires cruised to a win over the Tenafly Tigers, 17-4, at River Otters Ballpark. Matt Kennett led the way, going 3-for-4 for Santa Clara. The Vampires, now 3-1, have hit the ground running this season.

The Vampires got a big boost from catcher Rich Kaufman who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Tigers hurler Robert Sherrer. It was his 8th walk of the season and put Santa Clara on top, 1-0.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Kennett told the Santa Clara Today.
