The Surrey Thunderbirds got a magnificent performance from pitcher Jack Reiss, who muffled the Victoria offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Thunderbirds win at Cougars Park. Earning his 13th save for Surrey was Salvador Reyes. With the victory, the Thunderbirds upped their record to 70-41.

Alex Oliva, who is tied for 6th in the RLA with a .374 batting average, had a direct impact on the outcome. Oliva contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Surrey up, 1-0.

"Jack can bring it," said Surrey manager John Griffin.
