Victoria Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Lewis
|
Victoria got a terrific game from right fielder Alan Lewis. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Brighton, 5-4. Lewis was 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Danny Pepin earned save number 13 this season. Brighton currently is in first place in the RCL LA East Division at 74-38.
Brighton catcher Ricky Negron helped the Steelhounds go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Negron hit a run-scoring single off Victoria pitcher Jesus Arcia.
Said Brighton manager Freddie Baseball: "They come in every day and work hard. It's nice to see that work pay off."
