Owusu Helps Santa Clara Outscore Tioga Central
Jeremy Owusu was the difference-maker for the Santa Clara Vampires in what turned into a shootout with the Tioga Central Tigers. Owusu went 2-for-4 in the 25-12 Vampires win. John Cohen snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Matt Reynolds suffered the loss. Santa Clara, now 6-2, is setting the league on fire so far.

Erik Ingle had a big bases-clearing double for the Vampires in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Santa Clara leading 4-3 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Luke Beekley and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Vampires ahead, 7-3.

"You need to show up when your number's called," said Ingle.
