Stars Pull Out Late Win, 9-8
|
Surrey got a terrific game from second baseman David Barreto. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Arlington, 9-8, in 12 innings. Barreto went 2-5 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The win went to Danny Dominguez in relief, making him now 3-3. Sergio Arrache took the loss for Surrey. Arlington sits in 4th place in the RCL LA East Division at 46-69.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Arlington left fielder Marco Quizhpi, facing Sergio Arrache, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Stars the 9-8 win.
Said Quizhpi: "What's not to like about a walk-off win?"
