Branon Helps Lions Win, 16-12, with Pair of Homers
Art Branon was instrumental in his team's 16-12 triumph over the Montreal Cardinals. The right fielder belted 2 home runs, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 5 for the Lerna Lions. Steve Knudsen was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Abel Quillen. Montreal drops to 6-4.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Lions grabbed the lead when Branon hit his 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Abel Quillen made it 13-12, Lerna.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Branon.
