The Brighton Steelhounds picked up a win at Red Wings Grove, taking down the Estación Juanita Red Wings, 6-5. Starting pitcher Dave Hernandez was a big reason why. Hernandez, the winner, moves to 15-1. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 2 walks. Danny Pepin picked up the save for Brighton, his 14th of the year.

Brighton used a well-timed hit by Mike Hale to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Steelhounds ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"Dave knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said Brighton manager Freddie Baseball.

The Steelhounds have an impressive 76-41 record.
