Alpines Take Down Leprechauns, 5-3
The Saint John Alpines outlasted the Royal Oak Leprechauns, 5-3, in 11 innings. Luis Carcia played a key role, going 2-for-4 for Saint John. Reliever Momosuke Egawa picked up the win. His record improves to 3-3. Fernando Abrego, who is tied for 5th in the RLA in saves with 14, took the loss. The Alpines improved to 73-44.

Scott Racine came through with a big-time hit for Saint John. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

Racine attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
