Contreras Powers Steelhounds Offense
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Brighton Steelhounds and Santa Clara Vampyres.

The Brighton Steelhounds cruised to a win over the Santa Clara Vampyres, 12-4, at Santa Clara Stadium. Ricky Contreras led the way, going 2-for-4 for Brighton. Arturo Macias earned the win to go to 8-3. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 5 walks and 10 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work.

With Brighton leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Contreras hit a fastball from Rodolfo Loa for a grand slam home run. It was his 28th home run of the season and put the Steelhounds ahead, 5-0.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Brighton manager Freddie Baseball.

The win puts the Steelhounds at 77-43, while the Vampyres drop to 69-52.
