Despite a fine performance by first baseman Adam Timberlake, the Bloomington Hoosiers lost to the Aiken Thoroughbreds, 5-4. Timberlake was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. At 89-34, the Thoroughbreds claim first place in the TML LA West Division.

The Hoosiers had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Thoroughbreds going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old right fielder Roberto Acosta came to the plate. Acosta hit a bases-clearing triple on a 1-1 knuckle curve from Bloomington hurler Orlando Villavicencio. It was Acosta's 3rd triple of the year.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Acosta said.
