Thoroughbreds Suffer 7-4 Loss to Cuautitlan Izcalli
|
The Cuautitlan Izcalli Atlantics earned a win at Atlantics Grove, knocking off the Aiken Thoroughbreds, 7-4. On the bump for Cuautitlan Izcalli was left-hander Joey Chapman. He had a starring role in the triumph. The winner was Chapman. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Joe Bean. Picking up the save was Mario Zapata. He's now 9 for 12 in save chances.
In the bottom of the sixth, Mike Stefan delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Cuautitlan Izcalli designated hitter hit a 2-run single, putting the Atlantics in front, 7-4.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Stefan told the Cuautitlan Izcalli Citizen.
The Atlantics improved their record to 54-74 by beating Aiken.
