Pipers Win 7-5 Walk-Off
The Ft. Worth Werewolves got a sterling performance from pitcher Ron Phillips, but the San Carlos Pipers still prevailed, 7-5. Phillips threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. Edwin Franco claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3.2 innings. His record stands at 3-2. San Carlos got a clutch hit from Dusty Sullivan. The left fielder launched a grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
