The Tioga Central Tigers besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Billings West third baseman Jason Chard by beating the Golden Bears, 8-6, at Alleycats Ballpark. Chard was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Bobby Richey, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save. The Tigers raised their record to 10-15.

Tioga Central took the lead, 7-5, on Jerry Baugh's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Baugh hit in the bottom of the seventh, made Billings West pitcher Ron Crawford wince.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Tigers manager Hector Valencia. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
