Thanks in large part to catcher Nick DeAngelo, the Martinsburg Maulers beat the Kingston Beats, 6-4. DeAngelo went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Francisco Barahona, now 10-4, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. With the victory, the Maulers record stands at 76-54.

Lawrence Wood drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate for Martinsburg. The 23-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jeff Weaver. It was his 87th walk of the season.

"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said DeAngelo. "The only team that can beat us is us."
