Leprechauns Blast Alpines
The Royal Oak Leprechauns defeated the Saint John Alpines, 12-2, at Royal Oak Field. Leading the charge for Royal Oak was right fielder Hector Estrada. He was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Royal Oak starter Alexis Anguiano was credited with the win after throwing 129 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-11. Their 59-75 record puts the Leprechauns last in the RCL LA West Division.

Ryan Rickett had a big solo home run for the Leprechauns in the bottom of the third inning. With Royal Oak leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a curveball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Mario Olvera and punished it. The result was his 26th home run of the season, which put the Leprechauns on top, 3-1.

"They just got us," said Saint John manager Clarence Byrd, "and that's all I can say."
