Cavazos, Werewolves Fall to Rattlers
Ft. Worth designated hitter Jon Cavazos pounded Mojave Rattlers pitchers at Werewolves Grounds, but it was not enough to keep the Werewolves from falling, 12-8. Cavazos went 3-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Mojave reliever Jeff Cummings picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Danny Gonzalez was tagged with the loss. Mojave is 65-80 and Ft. Worth, with the loss, 61-84.

Mojave used a timely hit from Christian Bouton to get the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rattlers ahead, 10-8. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Bouton said in reaction to the win.
