Cougars Suffer 5-3 Setback
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

The Martinsburg Maulers beat the Victoria Cougars, 5-3, at Maulers Park. Martinsburg shortstop Blake Wallace collected 1 single and 1 double with 3 runs batted in. At 89-58, the Maulers are currently 4th in the RCL LA East Division.

Josue Roybal was 1 for 3 with a walk for Martinsburg. The 20-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Willie Lara. It was his 29th hit of the season.

Wallace said his team "played with focus."
