Marlins Lose Late to Pipers
Powered by Eli Vargas, the San Carlos Pipers downed the Media Luna Marlins, 8-5. Vargas went 2-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Pipers. With the win, San Carlos goes to 39-113, while the Marlins fall to 69-84.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Pipers grabbed the lead when Vargas hit his 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Jesus Ruiz made it 8-5, San Carlos.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Pipers manager Chris Santacroce.
