Ricky Wittwer knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Rattlers Field, he made his case to be considered among that group.

The 19-year-old shortstop hammered 5 hits in 5 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Mojave Rattlers fell, 13-9, to the Media Luna Marlins.

"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Marlins manager Victor Garro told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Wittwer wasn't the difference."
