Hoosiers Turn Back Cucamonga, 6-5
|
Tim DeGregorio did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Rancho Cucamonga from being beaten, 6-5, to the Bloomington Hoosiers at Hoosiers Stadium. DeGregorio went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Bloomington pitcher Ramon Gomez earned the win, hiking his record to 6-5. Fernando Baldovinos suffered the loss. Antonio Tejera earned the save, his 5th, for the Hoosiers.
Miles Mandeville had a big 2-run double for the Hoosiers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Bloomington leading 4-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Fernando Baldovinos, who is tied for 5th in the TLA with a 11.5 K/9 rate, and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hoosiers ahead, 6-2.
"Very good win for our guys," said Mandeville.
Yes, it was a win for Bloomington; but their 51-107 mark is nothing to crow about.
