Pipers Get Better of Werewolves, 4-1
|
Francisco Estrada never let Ft. Worth get something going. The San Carlos right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Pipers to a 4-1 win. In 7 innings, Estrada surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Despite the win, San Carlos still has a pathetic 38-121 record.
The Pipers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Antonio Piedra. For the game, Piedra was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 17th home run of the season gave San Carlos a 2-0 lead.
Piedra attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
