Triple A League Championship Goes the Distance, Minneapolis Prevails
Saturday, October 13th , 2063
TRIPLE A pundits who figured the Triple A League Championship between the Minneapolis Freeze and Antioch Coal Miners would go the distance were right on the mark.
The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Minneapolis coming out on top thanks to a 11-2 win in the deciding game at The Coal Mine, to wrap things up 4-3.
"You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Freeze third baseman Rob Heyward, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Heyward had 13 hits for a .500 average. He had 2 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The Minneapolis Freeze don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Calgary Hitmen - Calgary Cowboys series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The Triple A World Series schedule will be announced after the Triple A League Championship finishes.
