Willis Holds Thunder Bay Scoreless

In a remarkable performance, Memphis Privateers starter Ryan Willis beat the Thunder Bay Black Bears, 4-0, in an impressive 6-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Privateers hurler finished with 7 strikeouts and 5 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," Thunder Bay manager Qi-chang Ec said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
Checking out his stats for the season, Willis has racked up 3 wins and 3 losses in 9 starts, posted a 6.57 ERA, and struck out 27 batters in 50.2 innings.
