Year Over for Whitecaps Burns Sunday, September 28th , 2064 Shane Burns of the Whitecaps just might have to call it quits for the season. The 27-year-old Boston reliever received a possible season-ending injury against the Moose Jaw Canucks recently at Ashton Gate. Burns suffered a torn rotator cuff while throwing a pitch. The Whitecaps medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 14 months. This season, Burns has picked up no saves and posted a 2-1 record with a 5.04 ERA. He has 4 relief appearances, tossed 25 innings and struck out 24. |
