Spokane Snaps Arellano Streak at 24
Wednesday, October 8th , 2064
Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 24-game hitting streak, Rock River shortstop Fernando Arellano went hitless in 4 at-bats at The Kennel.
The sudden hitting drought came as the Rats snagged the 9-5 win over the Spokane Bulldogs.
"Nope, it's not magic," Arellano said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits."
Looking at his season stats, Arellano has compiled a .329 batting average and a .412 on-base percentage, while hitting 13 home runs and driving in 75 runs.
