Solis Crushes 3 HR Against Rancho
Tuesday, April 29th , 2064
Jose Solis brutalized the Rancho Cucamonga pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 13-0 Aiken victory at Steelers Park. The Aiken Thoroughbreds shortstop was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 3-for-5 with 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Too much Jose Solis today," Cucamonga manager Tony Vargas said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
Jose Solis hit a solo-shot off Miguel Villanueva in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Fernando Baldovinos in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Fernando Baldovinos in the 8th.
This year, Solis has socked 27 hits in 75 at-bats for a .360 average with 7 home runs. He is getting on base at a .510 pace and his totals also include 31 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
