Great Stroke: Connors Gets 5 Hits Friday, August 29th , 2064 Oak Park third baseman Jonathan Connors could do no wrong in his team's 12-3 win over the Thunderbirds, as he collected 5 hits. "Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Thunderbirds skipper John Griffin said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts." Connors agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game. "Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready." Jonathan Connors doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
