Alpines Carcia Smacks 5 Hits Sunday, August 31st , 2064 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Luis Carcia -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Beats Park and paced the 14-3 Alpines win over the Kingston Beats. After his dynamite batting performance, the Saint John shortstop told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Luis Carcia singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jose Benitez in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
