Springfield Snaps Waugh Streak at 61
Tuesday, September 2nd , 2064
Ben Waugh saw his 61-game hitting streak wither and die during the Toronto Blue Jays win over Springfield at Sentries Park. The 22-year-old left fielder was held hitless in 2 at-bats by the Springfield Sentries, but his teammates produced enough offense to win the game, 15-2.

"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Waugh told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 61 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."

For the season, Waugh is hitting at a .472 clip with 48 home runs, 205 RBIs and has scored 182 runs. He has 234 hits, 136 walks and a .582 on-base percentage.
