Dumortier Torches Sentries for 6 Hits Thursday, September 11th , 2064 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Gaëtan Dumortier -- a 6-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Hoosiers Stadium and paced the 8-6 Hoosiers win over the Springfield Sentries. After his dynamite batting performance, the Bloomington center fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 6 hits in 9 tries and put his name in the record book. Gaëtan Dumortier flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, grounded out in the 11th, walked in the 13th, flied out in the 15th, singled in the 17th and hit a two-run home run off Mokichi Takenaka in the 19th.
