Mandujano Hits 3 Homers Against Oak Park Wednesday, October 8th , 2064 Brighton Steelhounds third baseman Alex Mandujano sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Oak Park Architects, Mandujano told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Mandujano pushed the Steelhounds past the Architects, 12-6. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Mandujano told reporters after the game. Alex Mandujano hit a two-run home run off Bobby Cintron in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Alex Florez in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Herb Ward in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. Thus far this year, Mandujano is hitting .263 with 16 home runs, 43 RBIs and 37 runs scored. |
