The Louisiana Crocodiles got a good effort from starter Mike Ratto in defeating the Silicon Valley Hackers at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The final score was 3-2. Nate Pace, 5-3, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Jerry Hartley picked up his 8th save of the season.

Louisiana needed the clutch hitting of Aaron Elting to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Crocodiles on top, 3-2. For the game, Elting had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Mike is a gamer," said Louisiana manager Peter McColgan.

With the win, the Crocodiles sit at 83-72.
