Wichita Wolverines starter Ramon Franco turned in an exceptional performance against the Boston Whitecaps at Howling Park, resulting in a Wichita win, 6-2. Boston is 8-8 after the defeat.

Nick O'Neill went 1-2 with 2 walks for Wichita. The 20-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring single off Victor Cortez. It was his 16th hit of the season.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Franco.
