The Sandy Springs Spartans stormed past the Rock River Rats, 14-7, at The Coliseum. Sandy Springs shortstopChris Bell , who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2058 draft, led the hit parade. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 6. Sandy Springs reliever Ron Elliott picked up the win, raising his record to 3-0. David Biesiada was tagged with the loss. The Spartans bumped their record to 28-19 with this latest triumph.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Spartans grabbed the lead when Bell hit his 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Bill Shaughnessy made it 9-6, Sandy Springs.

"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said Sandy Springs manager Rafael Alonso.
