Visiting Black Bears Beat Whitecaps, 3-1

Pitcher Chris Roberts was rock solid in helping the Fraser Valley Black Bears beat the Boston Whitecaps, 3-1. Tommy Spezia earned the save for Fraser Valley, his 21st of the year. With the win, the Black Bears have a record of 45-31.
It could have been a different outcome for Fraser Valley, had it not been for Gary Russell, the 24-year old left fielder . Russell contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Fraser Valley up, 2-0.
"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Roberts.
