The Evanston Bishops and the Wichita Wolverines played into extra innings before the winner was determined. The Bishops won it, 7-5, in 12 innings. In the game, Evanston center fielder Cameron Linker was 1 for 2 with 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Evanston reliever Jerry Bamberg snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Raul Capetillo shouldered the loss. The 6th-place Wolverines dropped to 30-52.

Art Long came through with a big-time hit for Evanston. The designated hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 7-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We're leading the horse race," said Linker. "But we're not yet in the home stretch."
