Drillers Absorb 4-1 Loss at San Jose Municipal Stadium
The Beaumont Drillers were defeated, 4-1, by the Silicon Valley Hackers at San Jose Municipal Stadium, even though Brian Taylor pitched well for Beaumont. Carlos Correa picked up the win in relief. Brian Taylor took the loss for Beaumont. Ron Williams earned the save for Silicon Valley, his 11th.

Beaumont had a runner on 1st in the top of the eighth. With one out, Joe Phelan stood at the plate, hoping to find a gap. Instead, he hit into a double play. The score remained 2-1, Silicon Valley. The Drillers never could mount a comeback.
